7+ years at Bolt

I currently lead design for Bolt Food, Bolt’s delivery product, connecting food, grocery, and retail merchants with millions of customers across hundreds of cities in Europe and Africa. I’ve grown the Bolt Food ecosystem from early MVPs into mature products used by over 20M registered users and 150K+ DAUs, and lead a design team working across 10+ products and four domains.

I built and scaled the Delivery product design team as part of the wider global design organisation, helping shape how design works across the company. I put practical processes, frameworks, and design ops in place to strengthen the discipline, and defined how design works day to day with product, engineering, and analytics. This improved collaboration, alignment, and helped design have a real influence on product and business decisions beyond individual projects.

This case study shows how we created a clear design direction under tight constraints, helping teams align and make better decisions across the domain and the wider vertical.

 

The work clarified priorities and gave teams more confidence about where to focus their time and effort. The approach we used also became a practical framework for similar challenges later on, allowing teams to move faster while still delivering high-impact results.

From MVP to market, scaling a new business line at Bolt

This case study covers my role in supporting the launch of a new business line at Bolt. I helped take Bolt Market from an early MVP to its first fully realised product, contributing to a 7% uplift in GMV. After launch, I led further product and design improvements, including core design changes, guided by a clear framework and an execution roadmap.

Redesigning merchant tools at scale

This case study covers my work leading the redesign of Bolt’s merchant tools, supporting over 50,000 businesses ranging from global brands to local restaurants. I led the redesign of the Merchant app to support launches across all device types, improve key operational metrics such as order acceptance and preparation time, and reduce the rate of bad orders. These improvements contributed to a 1.5% uplift in GMV.

This case study is focused on a design-driven initiative that aligned design, product, and engineering around a shared roadmap. Through a full redesign of core delivery flows, the work improved focus, sped up decision-making, and led to a measurable reduction in last-mile delivery time, the primary operational KPI.

2019 – Present

Currently leading design for the Bolt Food ecosystem across consumer, courier, and merchant apps, scaling from early MVPs to platforms used by 20M+ people with 150K+ DAUs. I’ve built and now lead a design team across 10+ products and four domains, setting strategy for discovery, selection, and ordering that has contributed to €30M+ in GMV. I work closely with product and data teams to turn insights into practical UX improvements, and have established design systems and working frameworks that improve consistency and delivery speed at scale.

Led the end-to-end redesign and rebranding of core products, focusing on making interfaces clearer, easier to use, and visually consistent. This work increased user engagement and laid a solid design foundation for future growth. Supported the company’s rapid growth from 40 to 500 people in two years by establishing a strong design function and working closely with product and business teams. Improved day-to-day collaboration across teams to help people work more efficiently and get better results.

Led visual and design work across branding, product, and marketing, keeping a strong focus on user experience and conversion. Took ownership of projects from start to finish and made sure design decisions were grounded in real user and business needs. Grew the design team and put clear principles, systems, and ways of working in place. Worked closely with product, marketing, and leadership as a trusted partner to support business goals.

Directed web, brand, and campaign design for a wide range of regional and international clients.

Took projects from early concepts through to final delivery, working closely with designers, copywriters, and developers to make sure ideas were clear, practical, and on brief. Worked directly with clients to understand their goals, translate feedback into concrete design changes, and keep projects moving in fast-paced timelines. Balanced multiple projects at once, meeting deadlines without sacrificing quality.
